A friend of mine (http://www.teacupmoments.com/) gave me a heads up on Martha Stewart's latest domestic creation - craft room furniture! I particularly fancy that busy gift wrapping station against the wall. It has dowels for rolls of wrapping paper and long flat drawers for individual pieces. Definitely no crumpled leftover wrappers with this one! Oh and no errant rolls of ribbon either as they've got their own nifty dowel too.
Yes I know, it's a non-essential piece of furniture and I would probably get to use it just twice a year but I feel giddy just looking at its picture! It's just so....organized!!! I can see myself wrapping gifts for hours with that kind of set-up! And with my wrapping frenzy, I would likely be ready with my Christmas presents long before the onset of the 'ber months, which means I would need a gift cabinet for storing all the wrapped presents. Of course I would have to invest in an inventory of ribbons and wrappers as well, otherwise the station would not make any sense. Lest I forget, I would also need a craft room to put this wonderful piece of furniture in...is it time for me to snap back to reality yet? Maybe a reminder of the dismal state of my future kitchen would help??
If cost and space were not an issue, what would you guys want for your home? :-)
This is definitely a room I would like to have. A room just for all my crafst stuff and butingtings? Heaven. But I would prefer a bigger work table in the middle and that the walls be blue :).
ReplyDeleteYay, a like-minded reader! :-) Yes, yes, a hobby and butingting room! I would like mine to have a robin egg blue accent wall :-) Work table is fine but I'd want a more comfy chair! In the old house we're renovating, there's a home office area that I want to appropriate for hobby use. Maybe I should fix it up craft room style! (Malamit na sumagot ang asawa ko dito ng - NOOOOOO!!!!)
ReplyDeleteTo appease the hubby, give him his own room/nook/corner, be it a game room, an AV room (no porn please), home office, etc. You're a lawyer; "lay the basis" so to speak to justify your butingting room later on haha

randyb, I shall be solomonic about this. Hubby can share the space with me, one half Martha Stewart, the other half serious office. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteOh randyb, re laying the basis, gawain mo yon!
ReplyDeleteyou have a lot of space in your new house for your very own crafts room, fullmeasure! :)
ReplyDeleteT, that's true but just thinking of the renovation cost for such caprichuhan is giving me a headache! :-|
ReplyDeleteI would dearly love a walk in closet or a ginormous shoe rack!
ReplyDeleteBut my very own butingting room is good too!!
Pink Princess, don't forget the ginormous bag closet!!! :-)
